Edible ‘Art Hi-Tea’ and ‘Art Walk’ at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore

By adminNo Comments

Most art exhibitions end in a showcase exercise of art work.

Here is some exciting news! There is an interesting Immersive Art Experience at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore. How is it exclusive?

You as a visitor guest pick up a paintbrush, create your own art inspired by the masters, and eat it too!

Here is how the narrative actually unfolds for a guest:

Step 1: The Inspiration

(The Art Walk)

The journey begins with a guided walk through the hotel’s massive, museum-worthy collection of over 1,200 original artworks, featuring legendary names like Pablo Picasso, Paresh Maity, and Satish Gupta. Led by art interpreter Surekha Sundaram, the walk is designed to strip away the intimidation of art history, sparking raw curiosity and visual inspiration as guests take in the monumental sculptures and abstract canvases.

Step 2: The Expression

(The Art Hi-Tea)

Armed with that visual inspiration, guests head to The Lobby Lounge. But instead of just sitting down to a standard afternoon tea, the table becomes their studio.

Collaboration of Artist & Chef

Conceptualized through over a year of research, the Art Hi-Tea and Art Walk is the result of a collaboration with multidisciplinary culinary artist Eeshaan Kashyap.

Kashyap worked alongside the Director of Culinary, Chef Saurabh Tyagi, to craft a menu inspired by the artworks and design language found throughout the property.

The Art walk, is a guided art tour of a few highlight art pieces by Bengaluru-based Art interpreter Surekha Sundaram, founder of Maiden India Art, who developed a deep appreciation for cross-cultural dialogue and the role of art in shaping social narratives.

In this unique collaboration, traditional cutlery is bypassed for

‘EDIBLE’

canvases, paints, and crayons. Guests are invited to paint their own interpretations of the art they just witnessed on the walls, blending flavor and design before completely ‘CONSUMING’ their own creations.

My Take

I have written a lot about Art in Hotels and how Art Work finds its due platform in Hospitality. But this event is absolutely unique and interesting.

Why?

1. “The Art Hi-Tea and Art Walk” is a brilliant evolution of how we interact with Exclusive Art.

2. Where can you get to see 1,200+ artworks by legendary artists and well known names like Picasso, Maity…and more.

3. It’s not just seeing the Art Work. Instead of being passive viewers behind a velvet rope, guests become active creators, using food as their medium to digest the city’s rich contemporary art culture.

The journey unfolds through a thoughtfully curated selection of sweet, savoury and cultural creations where desserts are Edible canvases, paints and crayons.

4. So it’s a beautiful interactive story about the intersection of ‘Fine Art’ and ‘Experimental Gastronomy.’
Conceived around the hotel’s museum-worthy art collection, a first-of-its-kind immersive Art High tea and Art Walk at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore, reflects the city’s longstanding relationship with contemporary art and cultural exchange.

The Art Hi-Tea complements the hotel’s newly curated Art Walk, a guided journey through one of India’s most remarkable Hotel Art Collections.

More than a hospitality destination, the hotel stands as one of Bengaluru’s foremost patrons of art, home to an extraordinary collection of over 1,200 artworks by celebrated artists including Satish Gupta, Idan Zareski, Revati Sharma Singh, Richard Orlinski and many others, the property has long championed artistic expression.

Guests may choose between individual experiences or curated group journeys.

Through The Art Hi-Tea and Art Walk, The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore invites guests to experience the city through its art, its stories and the creative voices that continue to shape Bengaluru today.

Venue: The Lobby Lounge, The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore
